About me
Kelley L. Brent, Ed.D., is a Nutrition and Health Field Specialist and Extension Faculty member with the University of Missouri Extension, where she develops and delivers evidence-based health, nutrition, physical activity, and community wellness programs across Southeast Missouri. With more than 25 years of experience in higher education, public health, athletics, parks and recreation, and community engagement, Dr. Brent has dedicated her career to translating research into practical educational programs that improve individual and community well-being.Dr. Brent earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Missouri, where her research focused on nutrition education in parks and recreation settings. She has taught in university, community, and Extension settings, developed statewide curricula, led collaborative initiatives, and received multiple awards recognizing her leadership and educational excellence. Her passion is building partnerships that expand access to research-based education and create healthier communities. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Kelley enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, traveling to new destinations, and exploring the outdoors. Whether hiking, visiting parks, or enjoying Missouri's natural landscapes, she values opportunities to stay active and connect with nature.
